Welcome. The mission of this site is to provide parents of special needs children the information they need specifically about the quality of special needs education for each public school so that they may compare schools to make the best decision about where to educate and raise their children.

How?

The key feature of this site will be a school rating system that evaluates public schools based on their quality of education for special needs children. We plan to use parent surveys as the key indicator of how well each school is serving our AD/HD, Asperger's, autistic, developmentally delayed, and other special needs children.

We will also use other data such as teacher credentials to evaluate schools and arm parents with the information they need to make their best choice about where to live and raise their children.

A secondary purpose is to hold schools accountable through transparancy, a mandate of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Schools must make available to the public information about state test scores (school report cards) and teacher qualifications.

This is a huge undertaking, beginning with Ohio, our home state. We hope we can eventually provide every state in the country with this resource.

We are in the developmental stage, and we don't expect a lot of cooperation from state agencies. As many of you know, most schools are not doing a stellar job with our kids. Many times the intention is good, but resources (ie: money) is scarce.
